About the Author

The Magnum Crimen is a book about clericalism in Croatia from the end of 19th century until the end of the Second World War. The book, whose full title is Magnum crimen - pola vijeka klerikalizma u Hrvatskoj (The Great Crime - a half-century of clericalism in Croatia), was written by a former Catholic priest and professor and historian at Belgrade University, Viktor Novak (1889-1977). The book was first published in Zagreb in 1948. Immediately after the book was published, the Vatican Curia placed this book on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum and pronounced anathema against the author.

The Vatican's role in the genocide of Serbs, Jews and Gypsies in the Nazi-puppet "Independent State of Croatia" during WWII.

The book Magnum Crimen (Great Crime) is a must read for anyone who wants to delve into the tragic, horrifying, largely unknown, and unbelievable saga of the genocide of Serbian Orthodox Christians, Jews, and Gypsies in the Nazi-puppet "Independent State of Croatia" at the hands of the Croatian Ustashe, the Croatian Catholic Church, and the Vatican during WWII. Viktor Novak was a Catholic priest and academic who painstakingly investigated this unprecedented genocide and uncovered the Vatican's role in preparing, organizing Catholic clergy during WWII and hiding Catholic clergy after 1945 ("ratlines"). For decades, this unresolved genocide has been largely suppressed (for obvious reasons to prevent embarrassment from and exposure of the Vatican's crimes) and is the primary cause for instability in the Balkans to this very day. Sadly, Novak's book was largely inaccessible to many due to it being composed in the Serbo-Croatian language. However, the book has recently been translated in English for the benefit of a wider audience. It goes into great detail of how the Vatican and Croatian "intellectuals" prepared for the genocide decades before WWII and then, when the moment was right, executed one of the most brutal genocides in history by slaughtering hundreds of thousands of Serbians Orthodox Christians, forcing the conversion of hundreds of thousands more to Roman Catholicism, and murdering tens of thousands of Jews and Gypsies in the "Independent State of Croatia" which included today's Croatia, Bosnia, and a large chunk of Serbia that went all the way to Belgrade. To date, the Vatican has never acknowledged, apologized for, or compensated the victims of this anti-Christian savagery. Perhaps this book will encourage that process.

Read this book to comprehend why Bob Dylan said: “Blacks know that some whites didn’t want to give up slavery — that if they had their way, they would still be under the yoke, and they can’t pretend they don’t know that. If you got a slave master or Klan in your blood, blacks can sense that. That stuff lingers to this day. Just like Jews can sense Nazi blood and the Serbs can sense Croatian blood.”

Guy Moore is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at McGill University, Canada. He received his PhD from Princeton University and has held postdoctoral positions at McGill University and the University of Washington, Seattle.

Cliff Burgess is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at McMaster University in Canada, and an Associate Member at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He was James McGill Professor of Physics at McGill University in 2003, and received a Killam Research Fellowship in 2005.

The Standard Model is a patchwork; it is a collection of theories under a single name.
Its best part of is the Electro-Weak synthesis, but recent experiments show that neutrinos have mass.
In the original Eletro-Weak Theory, the Nobel-Prized one, neutrinos ( electron, muon and tauon) were massless.
So, something had to be done to cope with the new facts.
It is easy: the solar neutinos have mass, but the Electro-Weak ones do not have it !!!
One kind of neutrinos is a "rotated" version of the other. ( See Griffiths 2nd edition ).
If you can not detect quarks, no problem: they are confined inside the hadrons; if you try to separate them
you simply create new hadrons.
All the Standard Model particles are said to have been experimentally found: the six quarks (never found alone) and even a Higgs-like boson, but several physicists are already speaking of a beyond Standard Model Physics.
Well, it seems that there is, still, a lot of work to do to fix the present theory.
Popper criterium for a scientific theory requires that it must be falsefiable: the theory must predict a result
that,if not found, would reject it.
The way the Particle Physics is being done is no longer a scientific one: no matter what result is experimenatlly
found, it will not cause the rejection of the theory.

Extreamly interesting book contained with actual occurances
of levitation and history of demonstrations. This book
explains what levitation is, a study of it, and then
preaches to you about how to do it and other occult powers.
Only someone who is serious about levitation or wants to
have an superb study on it should consider this book.

Practice, practice, practice makes perfect,.

I have read this volume. It is great. The meditation exercises are just what is needed. I haven't practiced enough. I am working on this. Levitation proves the survival of human personality post death. If you have doubt about this, practice meditation and leviataion. When you can leave your body or levitate your body, you will know everyone survives death. Levitation teaches meditation and that is the most useful lesson.

Not the worst book on levitation.

I found this book very interesting as I had already read Steve Richards book on invisibility, with some success. I could not however get the techniques discussed in this book to work properly. Maybe it was my fault so I'm not really criticising the book as it's very well written and entertaining. I am not a sceptic of 'levitation' as I know from experience that it is possible. I managed to levitate once in British Home Stores, Bolton in 1984 for 36 seconds.

Why I Am Not A "New Age" Global Citizen

Dr. Ruckman hits a home-run with this book. I like his whole
series of books that begin with "Why I am not..." He tells the truth,
from a perspective that many may not appreciate. The fact is,
some people can't handle the truth. His books are humorous yet
he makes very serious points based on the absolute authority of the
Bible (AV 1611 King James Version). The problem with New-Agers is
that they have no authority greater than themselves. I highly
recommend this book and encourage everyone to read and be enlightened
by it. It goes against the grain of every humanistic, intellect-worshiping
"man is the measure of all things" philosophy. If your brain is your god
you will hate this book, but that's your problem.

About the Author

Phyllis Heath is a professor in the Department of Human Environmental Studies at Central Michigan University. She has also taught courses for Michigan State University in Okinawa, Japan. She was educated at the University of North Carolina at Asheville where she received a B.A. in Psychology. At the University of North Carolina at Charlotte she earned a MA in Human Development and Learning. She received a PhD in Child Development and Family relations at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her research has focused on the ways in which parental attitudes and behaviors affect children’s social competence, factors influencing parenting patterns, and more recently, the links between parenting behaviors and adolescent depression. She has also explored beliefs and behaviors of parents in indigenous cultures in Oaxaco, Mexico and in South Africa. �

wonderful book

I needed this book for a collge class but kept it for a while after the class was over to reread it. The book is rich on information about developmental stages, age-related problems, different family situations, etc.
The book also raises awareness about cultural differences in child rearing or family situations. It's a good book to read for parents, yet I think it's more geared towards social workers or psychologists.

Only an introduction for a beginner

If you've never picked up a torch or gun, this book is worth checking out. It is a reasonable introduction to major welding processes. But there are very few pages that describe in significant detail any particular welding process. Few figures/images in this black-and-white publication limit its usefulness. The type is a large font, margins are wide. In spite of a significant page count, the content is quite limited.

After you have laid your first bead of molten metal, you will rarely--if ever--crack this book open again.

Check out "How to Weld" by Todd Bridigum for a far more in-depth resource that you will use again and again.How To Weld (Motorbooks Workshop)

Does NOT talk about fluxcore welding!

"Explains each type of welding, including stick, tig, mig, and flux core welding". Yes, the book tells you what flux core welding is, devoting a total of 3 sentences to the technique. The author claims MIG is much more common, and thus ignores flux core altogether. I was under the misconception that this book covered ALL the basics. Perhaps MIG is more common in professional environments, but a basic wire feed welder is much cheaper than a full MIG setup AND more versatile in its portability and outdoor capabilities, so I suspect more beginners will actually find themselves with the basic wire feed welder first. I was really hoping to get a better understanding of the differences when using a fluxcore wire instead of a shielding gas, but that's not going to happen here.
